Weber Original Kettle Premium 22 inch Charcoal Grill Review
Weber Original Kettle Premium 22 inch Charcoal Grill is a best seller in Charcoal grills for a reason. Weber Grills has been an icon in outdoor grilling since the ’50s.
This classic grill has had many variants made from it. Over the years, there have been some upgrades, but the basic design has stayed the same since it has always worked so well.

Webers kettle grills are versatile. They are easily set up for direct heat or indirect heat. So no matter what you are grilling at the time, with proper placement it will do the job. It is a great grill to get great tasting barbecue.
Weber Original Kettle
Compared to the Gas grills, pellet grills, and even some of the charcoal grills available today it is simple and basic in design. For the modern day barbecue, there is a lot of options when it comes to the backyard barbecue.
The weber original charcoal grill is the granddaddy of backyard barbecues. The true question is, is it worth owning one, or is a more “modern” barbecue a better choice?
That’s just one of the questions I hope to help you answer.
A lot will depend on your budget and needs. If you are looking for a good quality grill to just cook on then this could be your answer.
If you are looking for more of a set and forget type of grill then a charcoal grill might not be for you. You might want to consider a gas grill or even better a pellet grill
Charcoal grills will always have a certain difficulty level but there are all kinds of accessories to make grilling a lot easier on them.
A good temp probe such as the ThermoPro TP08S Wireless Digital Meat Thermometer is helpful with just about any grill. No matter what you decide
When it comes to Charcoal grills a Chimney Starter is a game changer. These help reduce the time needed to get the charcoal grill going. They remove the need of using lighter fluid to light the charcoal. Lighter fluid should only be used to start a campfire. With a chimney starter, even that is questionable.
Can not stress enough the importance of a good meat thermometer like Lavatools Javelin Pro. No matter what you are cooking or how. You need to know the proper internal temp.
There are a lot more accessories that will enhance your grilling experience but those are a couple of the major ones

Cleaning the Weber Grills
One of the best features of these weber kettle grills is the easy ash cleanout systems.
The ash cleanout is 2 for one when not cooking you use it to push out ash. When cooking you adjust it to open and close using it as a damper to adjust airflow. This is a great system. Not many charcoal grills at this price range have this feature.
These are some of the easiest charcoal grills I have seen to clean and keep maintained.
You either love the looks of this grill or hate it, From my, perspective it’s hard not to like this classic-looking grill. It has changed very little since the actual original Weber… and why should it? The Classic look and design have withstood the time. I just bought a new one in 2021 and it still reminds me of the one my dad first taught me how to grill on in the ’70s
Weber has always used good materials in the construction of their grills, it is durable porcelain-enameled steel stands the test of time, I have seen many people show off their 30 year+ old kettles. That looked like they could have been bought last year. Don’t get me wrong these are not heavy duty they are lightweight and easy to move around, just good quality. If You throw them off a bridge, well they will look like they were thrown off a bridge.
Value For The Money
In this day and age, a lot of us try to keep spending down. We want the best performance and value for our buck. The Weber kettle grills give us that. With weber products, you get quality at a reasonable price. It is hard to find a grill in the same price range that offers the same value and performance as the Weber original kettles.
These are perfect for beginners and experienced grillers alike. Along with the ease of use(it’s a charcoal grill there is a learning curve). But once you figured out how to place your charcoal and properly set your vents weber kettle grills are very dependable.
Are Weber Charcoal Kettle Grills Worth The Money?
Absolutely! The porcelain enamel finish they put on all their grills is part of the reason they outlast most competitors, especially when left outside. The porcelain enamel finish is what prevents you from needing to season and re-season your Weber grills to keep them from rusting away.
The Weber Original Kettle Grill Series is a great grill. If you are new to charcoal grills or even a returning veteran you can not go wrong with one of these grills. These grills have withstood the test of time and won. If you are looking for a good Charcoal grill at a reasonable price you will not be disappointed with a Weber original kettle grill.
We would love to hear about your experience with these great grills. Have you used one? Are you thinking of getting one? Any question or comments would love to hear them
